On Lake St. Clair in southwestern Ontario, Tecumseh is named after an 18thcentury Shawnee chief and warrior who advocated for resisting US expansion onto Native American lands. Tecumseh is surrounded by Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River; its mixture of small-town history and big city modernities make it a warm, hospitable place.
With festivities like the Tecumseh Corn Festival and Taste of Tecumseh Food and Wine Festival, Tecumseh is filled with fun community events, rich historical landmarks and plenty of room for growth. Tecumseh honours their Indigenous roots with the Tecumseh Arena Historical Society Museum and the Sandwich South & Area Historical Society’s Cultural Resource Centre.
